Spreadsheet List Cleaner
Clean a pasted column, remove duplicate entries or compare two lists. Keep your codes intact and copy the result back to your spreadsheet.
2. Your result
Add a list or try the example to get started.
Text download preserves the original characters. In Excel, format the destination column as Text before pasting codes with leading zeros.

Clean data without changing its meaning.
1. Paste one column
Copy a column from Excel or another spreadsheet. Each line becomes an entry. Include the values only, without the column heading.
2. Choose the rules
Keep case-sensitive matching on for product codes where “AB” and “ab” are different. Trimming only removes spaces before and after an entry.
3. Take the result
Copy the cleaned values or download a text file. Comparisons preserve the spelling from the source list; shared entries use List A’s spelling.
Example: compare received stock with a supplier list
List A contains 00125, 00126 and 00125. List B contains 00126 and 00127. “Only in List A” returns 00125. “In both lists” returns 00126. These are differences between lists, not proof of missing stock: check your underlying records.
Will this keep leading zeros and commas?
Yes. Values are treated as text. “00125” stays “00125” and a comma inside an entry is preserved. This tool is for pasted single columns, not multi-column CSV files. Your spreadsheet can still remove zeros on paste unless the destination is formatted as Text.
What happens to duplicates and blank lines?
Blank or whitespace-only lines are removed. The first occurrence is kept when removing duplicates. Comparison modes always use unique entries. The duplicate count counts repeats within each input list; an entry appearing once in both lists is not counted as an input duplicate.
How to use this tool effectively
Clean pasted single-column text without converting identifiers into numbers. Remove blank rows and duplicates, sort values, or compare two lists while preserving codes, leading zeros and Unicode text.
Common uses
- Remove duplicate values from a copied spreadsheet column.
- Compare two lists and find values present in only one side.
- Sort a text list while preserving each line as a complete value.
- Clean IDs, email addresses, SKUs or labels before importing them elsewhere.
Example: remove duplicates while preserving codes
00125 00126 00125 AB-20
00125 00126 AB-20
Entries are handled as text, so a leading zero in 00125 is preserved instead of being converted to the number 125.
Common mistakes to avoid
- This tool treats each line as one value; it is not a full multi-column CSV parser.
- Case-insensitive comparison can merge values that are distinct in case-sensitive systems.
- A difference between two lists shows a text mismatch, not the business reason for that mismatch.
List processing happens in the browser. Pasted values are not uploaded to KRIYANO.
Frequently asked questions
Will the cleaner preserve leading zeros?
Yes. Values are treated as text, so identifiers such as 00125 stay exactly that way unless you edit them.
Can I compare two lists with duplicate values?
Yes. Comparison modes use unique entries for set-style results, while the tool also reports duplicates found in the source input.
Can I paste CSV data?
A single CSV column can often be pasted as lines, but this is not a multi-column CSV parser. Commas inside a line are treated as part of that value.
